Five for Friday {Linky Party}

August 15, 2014 in Uncategorized
Happy Friday! Linking up here with Doodle Bugs for the
weekly linky, Five for Friday!
So my little baby, Jake, is obsessed with his teething toy
Sophie the Giraffe. I know it sounds crazy, but this giraffe has magical
powers! Every time Jake grabs a hold of his giraffe, he’s in another world. He
chews on this toy like it’s no one’s business! He’s quiet, peaceful, and
concentrated on Sophie! According to the manufacturers, this giraffe helps
babies with all five senses. It has a great taste, feel, look, sound, and
sight. It’s been around since 1961 and was originally created in Paris. It’s
grown in popularity here in the United States over the past two decades. It’s
kind of pricey ($25), but worth the cost if it entertains my little man! This
week, Jake just discovered that when he squeezes it, it makes a noise! It’s
amazing watching Jake discover new things. Thanks Sophie!
My sister works for TumbleRoot Apparel, a country lifestyle
clothing company. They have super cute clothes for those obsessed with the country
lifestyle. My sister and I are huge country music fans, so naturally we love
their clothing! My sister is super lucky she gets to work somewhere she enjoys.
My sister has gotten me some super cute baby country apparel. I dressed little
Jake in the latest onesie from TumbleRoot. He’s rockin’ it country style!
I reorganized my Pinterest boards this week. Check them out
if you want to see some classroom pins, baby pins, and home décor pins. While I
was working, I didn’t have much time to organize my pins. Some pins ended up on
the incorrect boards. While Jake was napping this week, I reorganized
everything and created some new boards. I am hoping to keep up on my pinning so
I can save some awesome ideas found on Pinterest.
Even though I am not going back to school this school year,
I am still creating some fun stuff for my future classroom! I posted some
FREEBIES on my TpT store for Back to School. Check it out! I’ll be posting more
things to gear up for the Back to School Boost One Day sale on August 20th.

I made another crockpot recipe this week! It was lasagna!
It was a little more work than I thought. Now that I have done it once, I think
it will be easier the second time around. You can check out the recipe here!
Again, this is not a picture of MY lasagna. HAHA! I’m not quite ready to show
you pictures of MY cooking!
Thanks for reading my Five for Friday! Looking forward to seeing everyone’s posts today!
Have a great weekend!

First things first…your baby is ADORABLE! You're definitely keeping very busy even without a classroom this year. I found you on the Five for Friday linky & am your newest follower.

What a cutie! I had heard of the magical powers of Sophie so we bought it for my oldest daughter…she played with it a bit but didn't really chew on it. Now my 9 month old does the same thing. I want my kids to love Sophie like your little one but they just aren't into it.

  • Okay…so…I am back! My first and last Five for Friday post
was right before my baby boy was born…literally four days before he was
born! It’s been a little over four months now, and I am finally starting to get
the hang of this mommy thing. I am now back to blogging more regularly and I am
happy to be a part of the Five for Friday again!
Like I said, I just had my baby boy. My last Five for Friday
post was just four days before he was born. I love being a new mommy and I am
absolutely in love with my Baby Jacob. I didn’t know how much you could love
someone until he was born. My husband and I think he’s the best baby in the
world. He’s always happy and laughing. He is easy going and has a great sense of humor.
We can’t wait to see how his personality evolves as he gets older. However, I don’t
really want him to grow up too fast. I am already dreading him getting married
    and leaving me!

My husband and I went on a wonderful date night this week! We went to a DODGER game! We had a great time with each other. This was actually a Father’s Day gift I had gotten my hubby. We dressed up in our Puig jerseys and enjoyed the evening with some Dodger dogs! Look at that sunset! I love going to baseball games, especially as a date night! I can’t wait to take Baby Jacob to his first Dodger game!

My mom let me redecorate her guest bathroom. I feel a little bit guilty because every time I visit my parents’ house, I am always commenting on how “out dated” their decorations are! My mom decided to let me redecorate their house, one room at a time! So this week I worked on the guest bathroom. My parents loved it! I loved it too. It was fun spending someone else’s money at Home Goods! This may be my new hobby, but maybe only for family members. I wouldn’t be able to handle the pressure of decorating strangers’ houses!
So, I am not that great of a cook, but I began making some
dinners with a few crockpot recipes that I found online. My husband loved these
dinners! But…he’s not the greatest judge for food since I always say he’ll eat
ANYTHING! It’s my goal to continue trying to things to cook. I am not that
confident in the kitchen. I definitely need more practice!
Since I am staying home with my little man during his first year, I will have
plenty of time to practice making some new concoctions. By the way, this picture is from the recipe. Not my outcome! HAHA! We won’t picture that!
Finally, I love this nail design! Found it this week on Instagram! I have been trying to grow
my nails out so I can treat myself to a super nice manicure. I have been a bit
of a nervous nelly with my new baby. Needless to say, my nails have taken the
brunt of my anxiety! Once they’re strong enough I am going to get this nail
    design done on my nails!
Thanks for reading and I can’t wait to regularly contribute
to this Linky Party! Thanks Doodle Bugs!

That is one pretty baby!! I remember the days of being a new mom. Now my oldest is a senior, and my younger is a freshman. I miss the days when they were little. By the way, I have a house full of rooms that could use some decorating LOL1

Thank you so much Karen! 🙂 I know the time will go by fast! My husband is already asking about baby #2. LOL!
I'll be posting some more of my parents' house after I redecorate! Check back. Maybe next week's Five for Friday.
      Have a great weekend!

What a beautiful baby! Precious! What a smile! My baby tune 17 and started driving today. Sniff, sniff. I have a Home Goods right down the street from me. I always get HG gift cards from my class. Lucky me! We recently did a HG makeover in the kids' bathroom. Gotta love HG! About the nails…did you see those new Jamberry nails? Very cool! Now only if they sold them at HG!
