You Oughta Know About Kohl’s Cares! {March}

Happy Saturday!
I’m linking up with the fabulous Jasmine McClain over at Buzzin’ with Mrs. McClain for her You Oughta Know Blog Hop!
Today I want to share something that is fun, inexpensive, and a little addicting: Kohl’s Cares!
Kohl’s has a great program where they sell classic picture books and coordinating stuffed animals for only $5 each. The best part is that all proceeds go to support kids’ health and education initiatives nationwide! According to www.kohlscorporation.com, more than $257 million has been raised since the year 2000 nationwide.
Over my teaching career, I have accumulated quite a collection of these combos for my classroom. They have had Dr. Seuss collections, Eric Carle collections, Clifford collections, Disney Collections and so many more!
I used the books in my classroom as specialty books for mystery readers or story time. The stuffed animals were used as an incentive for my “student of the day” or my “top of the chart” winners. They could keep the special stuffed animal at their desk all day.
I really wanted to take some pictures of these duos for this post; however, all of my books and stuffed animals are in storage since I am taking this year off to be with my baby. But…I did find this picture of my collection displayed in my classroom. They make a great display! This is when I was getting my classroom ready last summer. I set these up above our cupboards and cubby area.

Head on over to Kohl’s and grab the current Disney collection they have now!
