Christmas Craftivity

December 12, 2012 in Uncategorized

The holidays are here! Can you believe it?! Just thought I’d share a couple of things we were doing in our classroom to celebrate the holidays.

After reading Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, we created some stories from Rudolph’s perspective on Christmas Eve. Students were able to assemble Rudolph and attach their stories to him!
Click here for the Rudolph template. It’s only $2.25 on my TpT store! I also included some writing ideas.

I found some awesome free downloads on Life in First Grade and my students and I were able to make these super cute elves. I read the story The Happy Elf and students created their own “happy elves.”

My students and I were also able to make some Advent wreaths. I used these Advent wreaths to explain the four weeks of Advent and its purpose for Christmastime. I have a free download for the Advent wreath craftivity on my TpT store.

My students and I also created our own Advent prayers. I used a fun craftivity to incorporate students’ prayers with art! Take a coffee filter and have your students color the coffee filter with water based markers like Crayola markers. Make sure your students color the entire filter. Spray the filter with some water and let the filter dry. Have students cut out the silhouette and glue in on their filter. You can glue the filter on a background. I drew this silhouette! Just copy your silhouette on black construction paper.

 Happy Holidays and Happy Teaching!
